Each year, Lerwick Harbour welcomes participants in the Bergen-Shetland race – a yachting challenge that sees competitors sail from Norway to Shetland in leg 1, before racing back in leg 2. It is a popular event, and the town is busy with sailors celebrating their arrival in Shetland.
