Jon is an accredited guide with the Guild of Battlefield Guides, as well as a guide for the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.
As a local historian and guide, he has constantly been working on detailing and sharing the stories of war surrounding Shetland, wartime locations of interest, and circumstances of the ‘Northern War’. Tied to this, he has a keen interest in conflict archaeology that still exists in the islands and is passionate about its preservation.
