Ewan Hutcheson is a young Shetlander building a creative, ambitious future close to home. Ewan is a third-year graduate apprentice at Malakoff Limited, working while studying towards his honours degree in mechanical engineering through Robert Gordon University.
Staying in Shetland has allowed him to combine higher education with hands-on industry experience, showing that island life can offer real opportunities to learn and thrive.
A lifelong Shetland resident, Ewan is also a talented musician, playing both fiddle and guitar. Living and studying in the islands means he can pursue his passion for music alongside his career, including performing at the renowned Shetland Folk Festival.
