  • Shetlanders praised for response to Covid-19
By Promote ShetlandJuly 27th 2020

When the coronavirus pandemic first struck there was nationwide uncertainty about what it meant, what we should do and how to stay safe. Thankfully, Shetland was quick to act and went into lockdown before the rest of the country. This fast action was crucial to halting the spread of the virus once it was confirmed in the isles.

One of the people who helped to steer the community through this challenging time was NHS Shetland Chief Executive Michael Dickson. Michael had only been in the post and in Shetland a few weeks when the virus hit, and in this exclusive video he shares his experience and his first impressions of Shetland.

Keeping Shetland healthy

Now that Shetland has reopened to visitors, Public Health Shetland is asking people to brush up on their FACTS and to do their bit to keep Shetland safe and well.
