Shetland Folk Festival scooped a top accolade at a Scottish music awards ceremony at the weekend. The festival won the Event of the Year category at the 2010 MG Alba Scots Trad Music Awards.
The volunteer-run festival was nominated for the inaugural award in 2003, but lost out when it went to Celtic Connections, so organisers had been hoping for a win second time round.
