  • 'Unst2Arran' Tour comes to Shetland
By Deborah LeggateJune 3rd 2011

Shetland is playing host to the first leg of an exciting, inter-island tour of Scotland by three very talented musicians.

Mike Vass, Calum MacCrimmon and Innes Watson will be showcasing their musical talents in Baltasound, Unst during a special concert to commence their tour titled "Unst2Arran".

Baltasound Hall will open its doors for a 7pm start on Tuesday 7 June, and the audience will be treated to a variety of fiddle, pipes and guitar music.

Entry will be by donations at the door on the night.

The trio are involved in several Scottish bands, and are also popular instrumental tutors.

School workshops will also play a part in this tour, and Baltasound Junior High School will welcome the group in for a day to play alongside them. This will offer students the chance to practice with touring musicians, and raise their awareness about how to make a living as a musician.

Follow their journey on their blog: http://unst2arran.wordpress.com/. They'll be touring across other Scottish islands in the week following, between 7 and 16 June.
