  • London 2012 Olympic Torch in Shetland

With less than three days to go until the Olympic Flame arrives in Shetland on Sunday 10th June 2012, final preparations are well under way.

When The Flame arrives it will be carried around the town by 20 torchbearers. Two convoys of vehicles i.e. the “Activation Convoy” with branded vehicles from Coca Cola, Bank of Scotland and Samsung, plus support vehicles and 200 young people from across Shetland will be travelling approximately 20 minutes ahead of the main “Torch Convoy”. During the “Activation Convoy” the waiting crowds will be entertained by mobile street entertainers and be able to receive some free promotional materials from the main sponsors.
