Fiddlers' Bid to host Hogmanay Party

by Promote Shetland -

Internationally respected musicians Fiddlers' Bid invite you to welcome the New Year in style at Mareel!

The band, who are celebrating their 25th year together this year, have teamed up with Shetland Arts and some of Shetland's finest musicians and performers for an exclusive concert to kick off what promises to be the ultimate Hogmanay experience. The concert performers are Fiddlers' Bid, Vair, Norman Goudie & Friends, Bryan Gear & Violet Tulloch, and special appearance from the legendary Alec Couper.

Between the concert and dance, partygoers can refresh with complimentary supper and a dram, while enjoying the glamour and the glitz of the 1920's inspired Cafe Bar or relax in one of the cinema spaces where music films will be showing. Fiddlers' Bid will kick off the countdown at 11pm for everyone to take in the New Year, then dance the night away with a supergroup of musicians on the Mareel stage, with concert performers joining the Alan Nicolson Dance Band for the ultimate Shetland Hogmanay celebration.

This promises to be a sparkling night, a night like no other!

Chris Stout of Fiddlers' Bid said: "We're all hugely excited to be sharing this special concert and dance with this all-star cast of some of our all-time favourite Shetland musicians. It means so much to us to have the chance to celebrate Hogmanay and our 25th year together amongst friends."

Two ticket options are available, one including the seated concert at 7.30pm and one with later entry from 9pm, to Cafe Bar only until concert is finished. Tickets will be available to book from Friday 14 October through Shetland Box Office at Mareel and Islesburgh, over the phone on 01595 745555 or online at www.shetlandboxoffice.org
